Itinerary
Day 1 – 4: Fly to Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in Chobe National Park
Your family safari in Botswana begins with a flight to the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, one of the world’s foremost remaining wildernesses in the game-rich Chobe National Park. This ecologically diverse landscape fed by the Linyanti River is a fascinatingly wild and unexplored terrain where unrivalled herds of big game roam free. Here you will take residence at Linyanti Ebony Camp, a small cluster of four luxury tents with all the ingredients for a highly exclusive safari. All activities at Linyanti can easily be tailored for families of all ages so that everyone gets the most from their stay at this very special riverside camp. Your spacious ensuite family tent has a self-contained lounge area and private deck with commanding views of the wetlands teeming with wildlife. The main camp features an open-plan lounge and dining area, a sparkling plunge pool and an African-inspired boma conducive to storytelling under the stars. Hippo, crocodile and elephant are just some animals you might encounter on morning and evening game drives, but most visitors agree that the rare African wild dog is the highlight of any Linyanti safari.
Day 4 – 7: Fly to Mashatu Lodge in Mashatu Game Reserve
Your next destination is Mashatu Game Reserve, which forms part of the Northern Tuli Game Reserve. Your lavish tented accommodation is at privately-owned Mashatu Lodge, where the wildlife inhabitants are as diverse as your options for exploring their terrain. From Mashatu Lodge, you are free to discover this unspoiled wilderness on a 4x4, boat or expertly guided walking safari with animal identification and tracking activities for kids. Keen photographers can take advantage of hides at Mashatu which allow animals to get close without being disturbed, so you can capture that special moment forever. Your luxurious waterside suite at Mashatu is designed for the utmost privacy while offering closeness to the bush and all its inhabitants. Watch enormous elephants drink and splash at the watering hole and listen to the distinct call of the woodland kingfisher. Lodge meals can be served alfresco with plenty of fresh produce and easy dining options for younger children. Enjoy lazy lunches and lamplit dinners in the company of other guests or request a private dining experience with only your nearest and dearest.
