The Young Explorers of Botswana

Upon arrival at Maun airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a Ker & Downey Botswana representative who will assist you with your Safari Air ticket and guide you through security. A Safari Air porter will accompany you to the light aircraft for a scenic flight to Moremi Game Reserve. At Xakanaxa Airstrip, your guide will meet you and transfer you to Okuti camp in an open safari vehicle. Nestled along the Maunachira River in the heart of the reserve, Okuti offers spacious and unique accommodations with stunning views. Enjoy game drives with unhindered views, abundant wildlife sightings, and explore the picturesque Okavango Delta waterways by motorboat, a paradise for bird enthusiasts.

After breakfast and a morning activity, you will be transferred back to the airstrip for a scenic flight to the Shinde Private Concession in the Okavango Delta. Upon arrival, your guides will meet you and transfer you to Footsteps Camp in a 4x4 safari vehicle. This exclusive six-bedded camp is designed for families, providing a private experience with a professional guide, personal chef, waiter, housekeeper, and dedicated Mokoro guides. Immerse yourself in the African wilderness, exploring the bush at your leisure while having fun. The Young Explorers program offers a unique opportunity for families to learn together, including tracking game on foot and in safari vehicles, making small animal traps, starting a fire, identifying animal spoor and birds, poling a Mokoro (depending on water levels), driving a game drive vehicle, fishing, and shooting an air rifle. Children will receive a Young Explorers certificate, t-shirt, and cap as a memento of their unforgettable safari adventure.

After a delicious breakfast and, if time permits, a morning activity, you will be transferred by plane back to Maun. This will be the end of your safari.
