For those looking to go off the beaten track, this 10-day safari goes into the lesser-explored regions of Southern Tanzania. Explore two of Tanzania’s vast national parks, Ruaha National Park and Nyerere National Park. Staying away from the crowds, the safari ends on your own island retreat from where you can take in the breath-taking splendour of the Indian Ocean.

Itinerary

Day 1 - 4

Upon your arrival in Dar Es Salaam, you will fly out to Ruaha on a local schedule. Once you arrive, you will be met by a Jongomero representative who will transfer you to camp for your 3-night stay. During your stay, you will enjoy game drives and walking safaris, which are included in the cost.

Day 4 - 7

After your final game activity, you will be transferred back to the airstrip in time for your flight to Nyerere for another 3 night's stay. Included in the cost are the following activities for you to enjoy, game drives, walking safaris, fishing, a boat safari and one pontoon lunch.

Day 7 - 11

Once you have had breakfast you will be transferred back to Dar Es Salaam to connect on your scheduled flight to Songo Songo. Upon your arrival you will be met by a Fanjove Island representative that will transfer you to the Island for your 4 night's stay. During this stay you will be able to snorkel from the beach and by boat, kayak or SUP. Enjoy an island walk, a sunset dhow sail trip, one marine boat safari and one sandbank picnic by boat, all of which are included in the cost.

Day 11

After your final activity, you will be transferred back to the airstrip to Dar Es Salaam in time for your flight home. Unfortunately, this is the end of your safari!
