Begin your Namibian family adventure in the capital city of Windhoek where you can take a moment to catch your breath before driving into the Namib Desert. From your idyllic lodge within the Namib-Naukluft National Park, explore Sossusvlei as you enjoy a varied menu of family-friendly activities from quad biking to climbing the famous Dune 45 at sunrise. Next up you’ll head for the coastal town of Swakopmund where majestic sea views are matched by an array of desert and water activities that include hot-air ballooning, dolphin-watching tours and game fishing in the deep blue sea. Your last stop is Spitzkoppe Tented Camp at the foot of Namibia’s own Matterhorn where desert life can be as slow or as energetic as you like.

Spend your first night in Namibia at Olive Grove guesthouse, a peaceful retreat in Windhoek, not far from some of the best attractions the city has to offer. With only 10 rooms available, your family will enjoy an exclusive home-away-from-home experience with warm hospitality and top-notch service before heading off into the Namib Desert. From your spacious, air-conditioned tent, you have panoramic views of the Namib Desert with its giant dunes and mountain ranges colored in every possible shade of red. You are also invited to experience the desert’s stark beauty with a range of family activities nearby. Take a guided quad bike tour, walk to the summit of Dune 45 at sunrise, discover the crusted salt pan and parched trees of Deadvlei or get a bird's-eye perspective of the Namib Desert on a hot-air balloon ride.

Day 5 – 8: Drive to Strand Hotel in Swakopmund

Your next stop is Swakopmund, the undisputed adventure capital of Namibia with an array of thrilling activities on offer for all ages. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean with a dramatic atrium to maximize the incredible sea views, the stylish Strand Hotel is your home base. In your luxurious ensuite room sleeping two adults and two children, you have all the creature comforts and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors so the ocean never feels far away. The hotel is staffed by professional travel consultants to ensure you get the most out of your stay.
