This 14-day journey moves through Uganda’s key primate regions, beginning with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary before continuing to Murchison Falls, where the Nile narrows and flows with noticeable force.
From here, you travel south into Kibale Forest, where time is set aside for chimpanzee tracking, before continuing toward Bwindi for mountain gorilla trekking. Each stage is paced to allow for the physical demands and unpredictability of primate encounters.
Along the way, the journey also includes time in Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks for broader wildlife viewing, as well as a visit with the Bahima community, offering insight into pastoral life in this part of Uganda.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you will be met on arrival and transferred to Karibu Entebbe. You’ll spend your first night here, with time to rest and settle in after your journey.
You’ll travel by road to Murchison Falls, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary along the way. Here, a guided walking safari allows you to track southern white rhinos on foot, offering a different perspective from your time in the vehicle.
Continue onward to Murchison Falls National Park, where you’ll spend three nights at Entikko Safari Lodge. During your stay, time is set aside to explore the park, including visits to the top of the falls and game drives across this varied landscape, where river, woodland, and open savannah meet.
You’ll continue by road to Kibale Forest, known for its high concentration of primates. The journey allows the landscape to shift gradually into more forested terrain.
You’ll spend two nights at Turaco Treetops, set on the edge of the forest.
On Day 6, the morning is set aside for chimpanzee trekking, with time to move at a steady pace through the forest as you track a habituated group (age restrictions apply). In the afternoon, a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary offers a quieter experience, with opportunities to observe birdlife and smaller forest species.
You’ll continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, travelling via the Kasenda crater lakes, where the landscape shifts into a series of small, water-filled craters surrounded by cultivated hills.
You’ll spend two nights at Buffalo Safari Lodge, positioned to access different areas of the park.
During your time here, activities include morning and evening game drives, allowing for variation in wildlife movement, as well as a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where animals are often drawn to the water’s edge. One evening is set aside for a sundowner, offering a pause at the end of the day.
You’ll continue by road to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where the terrain becomes more mountainous and densely forested as you approach.
You’ll spend three nights at Gorilla Leisure Lodge, allowing time to settle in and prepare for the days ahead.
Day 10 is set aside for gorilla trekking. The experience begins early, with time taken to track a habituated group through the forest, moving at a steady pace depending on their location (trekking is reserved for adults).
On Day 11, you’ll travel to Mgahinga for a golden monkey trek, offering a different primate experience in a more open bamboo forest setting, before returning to your lodge later in the day.
You’ll continue by road to Lake Mburo National Park, with the landscape opening into rolling hills and acacia woodland as you approach.
In the evening, a guided nature walk offers time on foot, allowing for a closer look at smaller details often missed from a vehicle.
On Day 13, you’ll visit a local Bahima community, where you’ll gain insight into their pastoralist way of life, including the care and cultural importance of Ankole cattle.
You’ll stay at Kigarama Wilderness Lodge, set in a quiet position overlooking the surrounding landscape.
After breakfast, you’ll begin the return drive to Entebbe, with time allowed for the journey and any necessary stops along the way.
On arrival, you’ll be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight home.
