Overview

Take an extraordinary journey through Rwanda, the “Land of a Thousand Hills.” Begin in the vibrant city of Kigali before heading to Volcanoes National Park for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of gorilla trekking. Encounter golden monkeys in their natural habitat and immerse yourself in the culture of local communities. Stay at some of Rwanda’s finest luxury lodges, ensuring an intimate and seamless safari experience.

 

What your trip will look like

Day 1: Arrive in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, a Nurture Africa Safaris representative will meet you outside the customs and immigration hall. Enjoy a brief orientation before transferring to your hotel for a restful night in Rwanda’s capital.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Begin the day with a guided tour of Kigali, visiting the Genocide Memorial to gain deep insights into Rwanda’s history and resilience. Explore the vibrant Nyamirambo community with a guided cultural tour, experiencing bustling markets and local traditions. Enjoy lunch at the historic Hotel des Mille Collines before departing for Volcanoes National Park. The scenic drive takes approximately three hours through Rwanda’s rolling hills.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking & Cultural Experience

Wake up early for an incredible gorilla trekking experience. At 6:30 am, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before beginning the trek at 8:00 am. Walk through lush rainforests, guided by expert rangers, to find a habituated gorilla family. Spend an unforgettable hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

After the trek, visit the Gorilla Guardians Village, where ex-poachers have transformed into conservationists, providing a cultural immersion into Rwandan traditions.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure

After breakfast, head back to the park headquarters for a briefing on golden monkey tracking. These playful primates leap through the bamboo forests, providing excellent photography opportunities. Following the trek, return to Kigali for your international departure.

As your safari comes to an end, we hope you take home lasting memories of Rwanda’s wildlife and cultural heritage.
